I'm taking "the next thing to get squeezed will be people" as they could abandon ship now, leave an AI in charge and squeeze some more speed out of that bucket.

So... why isn't that on table?

I don't think it's really the ship she's concerned with. She wants to die now and be with her husband and/or forget this day even happened.

Do they have an AI they could leave behind? Ennesby is dead, and Cindy is locked to the Cynthetic Certainty.

Maybe one of the engineer drones? Schlock? (That idea should make you shutter.) I mean, they aren't AI per se, but both have shown a resilience against the sort of forces that would pulp or fry a mere, or even augmented, human.

I'd almost pay good money to see that storyline.

It's the right word, total shock causing shuddering and soiling of underwear in one movement.

Is this some new portmanteau? If so, that it's identical to an actual word makes it's less than useful.

Yeah. Shudder. My fingers found the wrong letters, and I didn't notice in proof.

Ennesby's maraca node, and his ship node, are both toast. IF he has additional nodes, he's, relatively, fine, but he's probably coming back from backup.

Fortunately, either Kevyn or Para, or even Thurl, can reload him into new hardware without any trouble.
Oh. Wait...

FTFY

I couldn't resist.
Urban dictionary apparently acknowledges FIFY, but I have never seen it written that way before.

Well, I know FIFY to stand for Fixed It For You.
What does FTFY stand for, and is it something you can say in polite company?

only if "that" isn't considered a swear.

...Well, I have, on occasion, heard it used in a tone of voice that made me wonder...
