11 grams is not very much. Boomex seems to be pushing at the limits of the yield possible for a chemical explosive,.

Sounds like Pi is taking a "clever and subtle" rather then "brute force" approach - the small explosions would make the polymer shatter by hitting its resonance frequency, or something like that.

Given that Kevyn could punch through tanks, Pi might be overconfident here.
Though I wonder if Binnie/Kowalski in super-solder mode wouldn't be wider to scratch through the barrier rather than punch through it.

Am I the only one foreseeing trouble in Schlock's expression of envy over Pi's "cooler tools"? Last time he was envious over everyone else having armor...and we know how that ended.

The only one who I'd consider more dangerous with Boomex than Pi is Schlock. He can cause quite enough mayhem with his plasgun, but "enough" doesn't seem to be a word in Schlock's vocabulary.

"11 grams is not very much. "

Strange how I could see that in a thought bubble over Schlock's head.

Remember Haban's ability to . . . defecate explosives?
How likely is it, that mister spy has something similar?

Boomex can be doped with AM-loaded fullerenes. The energy yield is hardly "conventional."

Has it ever been established that Boomex is a purely chemical explosive? I know that when it put a hole through a battleplate, they noted it was "laced with an antimatter fullerine matrix", implying that "pure" Boomex is probably sans-antimatter . . . but might there still be the possibility of some light nuclear funny business going on?

That's pretty much exactly what I thought--seems like either a Chekov's gun or a red herring.

When discussing explosions, is there such a thing as *light* "nuclear funny business"? If the word "nuclear" is involved, it would seem that neither "light" nor "funny" are appropriate. (*)

(*) Well, maybe with the exception of "Huh, that's funny...I wonder what made that REALLY bright light over the horizon?"

I dunno. You get too close to a nuclear shindig, light is going to be very prevalent, and probably the last thing you see

Oh, I dunno. Nukees had some business recently involving nuclear light, that I thought was pretty funny. Or maybe just plain pretty. "url=http://www.nukees.com/d/20120511.htmlIt IS beautiful, is it not?"

"Very little of the weapon package is in place, and the control code, your "clone" might only have been 45% complete"

Oh, I expect he can throw a punch. Q1) Will he want to. Q2) Will the punch carry augmentation? Q3) Will his body survive the forces from throwing an augmented punch capable of putting holes in tanks?

I'd lay odds that at least one of those is 'no'. The 'might only have been' does however, create room for rampant speculation. By all means, speculate.

But we already did that, when Schlock jumped in the hole.

Oh wait, you said speculate, not spatulate....

That's very different...

Never mind.

Not necessarily. How about a technetium powered electric battery?

... your shindigs are no fun. I'm going next door where they've got mass-energy conversion bombs. :P
