Well, we now see just how much regards this particular faction of UNS has for Gavcorp personnel. Good thing they hired Toughs, though I'm not sure how much good that's going to do.

On the other side, we know Petey does not want the UNS to have this kind of weapon, so he'll do one of two things to block it:

1) Make it too expensive for the UNS to do, as in let the cat out of the bag.
2) Blow it up. I'm sure he'd prefer not to, since Oisri's extra power would be handy; it's portable in a way that LOTA and the core genrator aren't. In fact, since we know that an Annie plant can go through a teraport, it could even go to Andromeda (which would just take a lot of power) and take the fight to the enemy.

The Toughs have already proven that they're no real match for the UNS without Petey running interference-- or even WITH Petey running interference. If they were, they'd still have all of their original memories intact.

Of course, I'm also wondering where Oisri is, exactly. I'm kind of doubting it's in the actual UNS sphere, since the Gavs hired the Toughs at all. I'm guessing that Tagon and Co. aren't who you call if you're wandering around inside official UNS territory.

LOTA isn't portable? It can be teraported anywhere in the galaxy that isn't blocked, and then can fire anywhere that is.

This requires a certain amount of willful stupidity on the part of the Gavs, which I think isn't too unreasonable to expect. I'd still imagine at least one non-baseline Gav would've figured out that... "Hey, the UNS might just come here and TAKE the thing. We can fight them, right? No? Ok, lets sell it to them,"

Logically I can only think of two reasons they'd pick this fight. Either they're a lot more powerful than we think, or there is more than one very powerful faction doing the same things the UNS is doing.

Gavcorps Edge Research Arm (using people from Diversity Engineering Institute ) are researching Oisri. I'm almost sure that Gavcorps ERA hired Toughs out of good sense of paranoia, and the fact that they really don't know how well the people from DEI will interact with all of the implanted memories. It's a good thing that Toughs are involved, since the planetoid of this magnitude is bound to pique Petey's interest, and that UNS is tryin to use it against him.
