Congratulations to Captain Sorlie on her promotion. From Lieutenant to Captain in less than a week.

You know there's a Charlie Foxtrot when they start handing out battlefield promotions.

On another topic, there may be a Battleplate vs Battleplate fight in the near future if Emm decides that General Bala (and Chester) knows too much.

More like condolences. Sorlie most definitely did not bargain on this when she was shanghaied into this mission, that's for sure. Now, the situation on the ground is now at least partly in her relatively inexperienced hands.

Bet she's wishing she called in sick this morning.

IMHO she already realises they know too much. The question is, can she trust them not to use what they know to deal with two incredibly dangerous situations at once? It would be easy for the General to point at Emm and say her conspiracy is part of the "JSC takeover with lotsa 'splosions" conspiracy.

Emm has survived several incidents so far. I doubt she is so dumb as to attack an ally when one of goals has already been attained (Immortality for Earthers).

Also, this whole situtation has given Emm an out. But if she decides not to disarm... maybe we will see some battleplate on battleplate.

Whatever is in the bag of dirt, she capitulated on reassigning Libretti in less than 42 seconds. I would imagine there won't be any further obstructionism from Emm. I'm guessing most of her closely guarded secrets, the ones she's been killing to keep, are exposed in that bag of dirt.

Also, no matter how evil her methods (and nature?) I think she really does believe in defending the UNS.

Best line I've heard all year. Someone give Howard a medal, quick.

Thank you for explaining the joke.

(But it's still a wonderful sentence)

That's not the joke Psystorm is explaining, though. It is kinda funny how both Jan 4th threads made the same mistake. Not to mention the part where it took me both of his comments to notice, and that apparently I'm not the only one slow on the uptake.

That should be a maxim.

It probably is, now.

That takes care of my annual "start of the year" mistake quota. Glad to have gotten it over with.

I note that Captain Sorlie's promotion, while definitely speedy, isn't all that impressive in battlefield terms - she's in a "ground pounder" chain of command, as her commanding officer is a general - hence she's now an O-3, while Captain Murtaugh, as a member of a fleet-type organization is an O-6...
