So, anyone want to call it? I think it's Tagon's recorded last message, which may say "I'm sorry things worked out this way. And I'm not sure how comfortable I am with this whole rebuilt-immortality thing, but I had Iafa pull a complete backup of me while I was running. Use it, don't, you folks make the call."

Either that, or else a "Do Not Resurrect" order. I don't think it would necessarily undermine the story to get Tagon back, but Howard's been nodding all along at the moral implications of some of this tech, so I doubt it would be as simple as "And then Tagon was brought back, and there was much rejoicing."

I don't think a DNR would have a three-day embargo...

There were a hand full of things pointing at a backup having been made, but the 3 day embargo is interesting. My best guess is the backup is at least partially out of date and Kaff didn't want a restoration getting in the way before the conflict was resolved one way or another. (What could hurt more than heroic sacrifice failure compounded by watching everyone die because the sacrifice didn't work?)

Another possibility is that he didn't want his dad making the decision at the height of grief. Give him three days to calm down and then make an informed decision.

But that seems out of character for our beloved Captain. Much too thinky.

Tagon can be surprisingly insightful. Like the way he linked death benefits to the officer's paychecks.
