Alternatively, the lineage might be entirely separate. Remember that at some point these are an artificial species, they could be descended from a different build, make and model.

Account for the procreation rate and divergence before assuming they are just "old". It probably takes a fraction of the time to produce a new generation of esspies and they could have a much higher "mutation" rate as well, which might even be directed purposefully. Esspies could conceivably go through millions of years of evolution in mere decades.

Even if it only means generational distance rather than genetic, rapid procreation could still lead to their species being younger than humanity in spite of that claim.

As someone else has said, this is really about number of generations, rather than simple passage of time.

Since I don't know what starting assumptions Neeka was making about when humans and gorillas were supposed to have diverged, to illustrate I'll just use some arbitrary numbers:

Let's say the two lineages diverged 3 million years ago. And further, that the (on the way to being) gorilla line reproduced on average at age 10, while the hominid one at age 15 or so.
So that 3 million years is 300,000 generations for the gorillas, and 200,000 generations for the human line. Total: 500,000 gens.

Now let's suppose that the robo-fairies can grow to be able to reproduce in 3.65 days from hatching. That gives them 100 generations a year.
Which means they could have populations just as far apart from each other as humans are from gorillas, in only 5000 years.

And there are species in the Schlockverse that have been spacegoing for much longer than that. The Gatekeepers, for example.
