When your team is the scary team, how do you know if you are on the good side or not?

I don't consider insects, bats, snakes, rodents or any other "creepy" thing to be scary; however, I'm sure the Toughs don't feel the same, what with diamond beetles and esspererin.

Exception: centipedes. Those creep me right out. It's a snake-like spider and that is WRONG.

I would personally divide sides by the chances of being eaten by nightmarish creatures that can slip through warship shielding, which the Toughts seem to be fairly solidly on the good end of

First you have to ask yourself; "Are we the baddies?"

The next smart question is, "Can the shield penetrating monsters be turned against us?"

Now that's just blatantly signalling the ammo the Chekov will be firing with.

Mind as well ask that of any of the Toughs, especially Schlock; just give them a better offer, or infect them with mind-control nanites, then arm them with a breacher cannon or hand-held missile launcher.

I don't think giving them a better offer is generally going to be enough to make them turn on their own company. Even if they weren't particularly loyal (and at this point most of them are loyal to much more than money), doing something like that is both literal and career suicide. Maybe some could be bought to not fight back or neglect their duties, but not to attack the other Toughs.

"Never trust a traitor", even if he's currently working for you. Dispose of him as soon as he's no longer necessary, before he gets a chance to betray you too.

How many cities are you going to be bribing them with? They have enough money to say it's not about the money. Cold hard cash won't do it.

I realize there's probably a lot of convergent evolution happening here, and I"m sure someone else has already picked up on it...

but Man...the new Offan guys are giving me a major Esspererin vibe.

Don't get me wrong, I like them so far, but now I'm reaaaaaaaaaally curious if there's some history there.

These seem to be more like ants with extra segments. Not something I would consider nightmare fuel, but ... well, you never know.

Yeah, I felt the same on the whole "dumping its organ pod" part.

I like these guys though. I have a definite soft spot for semi-organic tanks.

These "warrior nodes" seem like the sort of thing a min maxer would pick out of a splat book.

I like the small bugs accompanying them (though, how did they get through the shields?)

Probably inside their breacher bubble. Or inside *them*.

I dunno what's nightmarish about them. They look cool, like an ant with a Roman helmet.

And presumably-PTU armour pads on their legs.

I suppose some people are just squeemish when the armour-bug vomits its entrails everywhere.
