Compare her waistline today with it from one month ago.

That's some slick artistic storytelling.

Ehh, I don't see it.

Image

She's hunching forwards in the first image, and leaning back in the second, but I don't see any noticeable waist changes.

It'd be a nice thought, but it doesn't seem showing in the artwork?

In the first example, her uniform has gravitics built in, and probably weighs more than she does, especially along that built-in backpack. Posture doesn't really matter, but the center of gravity of her plus her suit is probably two to three inches aft of the center of gravity for just her. It might well be higher, too. closer to her sternum.
In the second example, she's leaning on her husbands' regeneration tank.

I did consider that her suit in the first might just be 'thicker' and thus adding to her 'waistline', but I'm looking at the contrast of shoulders-to-hips-to-waist in both.

Her abdomen looks dramatically narrower to me. Steeper angle on the rib-to-stomach line.

(ignoring the lines about how she's skipping dinner)

Shame she's having such difficulty adjusting to the fact that her husband is actually on his way back to her. But this is new to her, and I guess it won't really feel "real" until he opens his eyes and starts talking back to her.

He still won't remember apologizing though. And he wasn't around when she was heroic.

I misread this whole thread.
Let's leave it at that.

I took the title to mean "Elf's Not Eating (in the cafeteria at this very minute when everyone else is)", and somehow completely missed you using the word "waistline".
The only excuse I can give is I was in a rush to get ready for church, and didn't read as thoroughly as I thought I did.
Heck with waistline. Her breasts are less full, and if anything, that uniform should provide more support than her usual civvies.

I concur. It looks like she's spending a little less time on herself, eating, than she probably should.

Edit. One letter. Typo.

From personal experience and from some others I know, grieving people tend to deal with food in one of two ways - either as a hindrance they don't have the energy to bother with, or as a source of comfort that ends up being indulged to excess. In other words, grieving people either end up having to be virtually forced to eat (or at least nagged into eating), and lose a lot of weight, or they eat too much and put on a lot of weight. Elf may be in the former category, in which case she needs looking after by someone close, who cares about her, that she'll listen to. So until Kevyn gets decanted, either Tagon or Doc Bunny will have to step up. Hope they notice that they need to before Elf collapses at Kevyn's tank...

Which is good, because she didn't deserve that apology.

She deserved it more than Petey deserves any respect at all.

It's something that changes your brain chemistry. Biologically, she lost her husband. That reaches down to the very soul, if you believe that exists. This was someone that she was going to spend her life with, maybe continue the Andreyasn/Foxworthy line. Some descendant of theirs could very well change the universe, just like their ex-teen-however-many grandfather and grandmother.

Science will make it better. But evolution is slooooowww.
