I guess if anyone's earned a retirement from the galaxy at large, it's Thurl... though I can hardly think of a more fitting man for the position.

"Hi, you've been reduced to your constituent atoms to the point that this virtual instance is the only extant copy. It will take several weeks to re-grow a meat vessel for you to inhabit; in the meantime, want to play Warlords? With real shields, fireballs and castles?"

Just gunna put it out there...

Taking people who’ve recently died, dropping their personalities into a game called ‘Ragnorak’ is going to be a good way to confuse them into thinking the world is ending...

Might want to rename it just slightly, and give it a matched theme.

"Valhalla?"

In Valhalla, loosely speaking, the people you killed are to be your servants. If people from two sides of a conflict wind up there, count on trouble, especially if it was a mutual frag.

I’d suggest picking another mythos.

Basing it somewhat around purgatory or the Greek underworld may suit.
(not everyone who dies will die doing nice things, you may need to revive their personality to question them, and you do NOT want such people pulling a Thurl, clipping through the sky, and escaping the ‘afterlife’)

For the sake of the latest strip - it appears Petey does not have full oversight of this waiting room, nor do the people there have a line of communication out (someone needs to feed my cat) nor does Petey have someone overseeing it. Someone in the role Thurl is trying to assume may be a good thing.
