This is the sexiest machine I have ever seen, maybe aside from a Jag
xjs, but it's close. I downloaded this video in April and still watch it once
a week.

I definitely WANT!!!

I saw something very like this demoed at MS research recently. They were showing off the software, and not the hardware, but it's the software that makes that demo so cool. Even my laptop touchpad understands multi-touch. It just doesn't have any software that does something with it.

What I like most about this demo is that it's describing what will probably become a new paradigm in HID. "Grabbing" objects or parts of an image, and dragging things around is a very tactile thing for humans, and extremely intuitive even for non-computer users.

I can't believe that no one is commenting on this. Is is just me or is this
tech truly fascinating?

Holding this forum in the same esteem I do TSC, I've been dying to read
the comments by the geeks and coders here. Removing my nick in The
Commons, hoping people would see Pi's and maybe come in to see this
sensory delight, I will do so again.

Maybe everyone has seen it and isn't impressed?

I'm impressed, but at the same time I see this as a technology that will likely not reach me within the next 10 years. Top reasons for this include the likely astronomical cost, and the lack of apps I would find it useful for.

AFAIC, it'll be spectacular when it gets adopted, but I can totally see it going the way of the scratch pad and living forever in art studios.

That was damned impressive.

Unfortunately, the touchscreen on my computer doesn't handle multi-inputs... But it still is very handy at times, even in development work.

If I need to move a chunk of text, I just drag over it with my finger and then drag it to where it needs to be.

I can draw on the screen in photoshop with my finger.

dragging and dropping files is very intuitive.

And being able to poke the screen to control winamp is just plain sweet.

I wish I had a second serial port, I'd get another of these for my left-hand monitor.

No second serial port header on the motherboard?
