I was browsing my links the other day, and stumbled across Hermann Huppen's website. It's been a while since I last saw any of his work...

So, any of you read any of it? If so, what do you think of it?

C'mon people, this forum's been dead for months now! If the landlady's gone there should be more partying, not less! Of course, here the landlady's the one making the parties...

Anyway, what do you think of Jeremiah? I'm thinking of getting some of the books...

That's not a name I'm familiar with. What has he done?

Heh, figures I'd forget the link to Hermann Huppen's website :)

Jeremiah is a comic about a post-apocalyptic USA, with two unlikely heroes (or rather, anti-heroes) trying to survive as best they can. It's pretty dark, but the stories are great and I like the drawing style.

I used to read it when I was a kid in a local comics collection, but it's been a while since I last saw any of those.

Didn't they try to make a TV series out of that?

Read it when I was a kid too. Then got tired of it. I find the latest issues to be just... meh.

Eeewww. Luke Perry as Jeremiah. And as Executive Producer. Well, that explains a lot...

And it seems very, very loosely based on the comic.

Eeewww.

The TV series is actually pretty decent IMO (but then I have a thing for post apoc), and having Luke Perry as the lead isn't quite as bad as I would have thought... but one episode actually brings in Jason Priestley as a guest star :D

It's not that I have something against Luke Perry, I kinda liked him in Buffy (the movie), but him as Jeremiah... nah. Jeremiah is supposed to be this idealistic young kid, not unlike Luke Skywalker. Not exactly a role that fits Perry's looks or demeanor.

Of course, I can't really judge, as I haven't seen it, but as Jeremiah is a comic book, it's very easy to see the visual differences. And as it's a well-written comic book, it's easy to see the story and action differences too.
