UC Berkeley finds Bush received an inordinate amount of excess votes in Florida where electronic voting was used.

http://ucdata.berkeley.edu/new_web/VOTE2004/index.html

See the summary:

This has also been reported by the major media outlets on the net. I originally found this report on Slashdot.

Bush["FL"] = 3911825
Kerry["FL"] = 3534609
BushFlAdj = Bush["FL"]-130000
KerryFlAdj = Kerry["FL"]+130000
print BushFlAdj-KerryFlAdj
117216

Of course, if you can conjure up 58608 more votes that Bush got that Kerry should have gotten, it may make this story at least a little bit more interesting.

Let me start up the spin machine.

*clik* RrRrRrrrrVROOOMMMMM!!!!!

If the new machines and procedures have prevented fraud favoring the Democrats that was present in the preceeding elections you could also see an anomalous change in voting patterns.

One other solution would be to rerun the election. North Carolina is considering it.

Sounds like another case of "if he would have won anyway it wasn't cheating." ;)

All I can see is 'if anyone did cheat in those two parties nobody'd give a damn anyway'.

Heh, Although it's more that it is not worth arguing the validity of the statistics because of that statement.

If they could conjure up 58608 more votes, I'm sure they'd have to work much harder at proving those 130000 they think they've already proved, as well. (Not that I care either way, unless it was discovered that they stole votes from Badnarik to boost Bush up.)
