Woah, forgot to reply to a bunch of these topics! Thanks Matt, and thanks to everyone who wrote in. It's been a crazy few weeks... just found an appartment, signed up with a bank, got my utilites set up, been pre-packing for next week's move-in... It's a lot to take in!

I'm out of town this weekend, but have some cool things in store. I'm in the process of launching ANOTHER site, not comic related per se, but it's a neat little side project that you forum goers should enjoy. Keep your eyes open :)

Re: Embarrassing comic time

I'm embarrassed of comics that I drew two or three years ago.

I love that spoiler thing.

I think I've burned all of my art from that stage in my life, but the stuff from two years ago is no less embarasing...
BRIAN! Where are you man?

No seriously, I need a quick dose of that comic goodness, or I'll get BPC withdrawal....

Too late... 8O

No seriously, why aren't there any new comics?

(P.S. - hey, how do you make them spoiler tags?)
Nevermind, I found the tags.
Hey all,

I just started my new job with American Greetings, and let me tell you... it's quite awesome. Everyone there is really tallented; some people design toy packaging, calendars, wrapping paper and more, while this group next door to me are all artists... they could draw circles around me. Wonder why they're not in the animation industry.

Before you ask, no, I don't make greeting cards :) But I could, if they asked me. I work in liscencing, which is all about characters from other companies, as well as our own. We do work with Nickelodeon, Disney, Warner, the Muppets, etc... and we have our own properites like Care Bears and Stawberry Shortcake. I work on the house characters, and yes, I know the irony of a webcomic author working with Stawberry. Trust me, the guys there have a sense of humor too.

Anyway, it's been a lot to digest. First time living on my own, first time driving in and out of city traffic, and my first time dealing with a broken down vehicle without my folks to bail me out. Been without my car since Monday, meaning I've been getting home around seven and waking up at five AM. I have a comic drawn, it's just hard to find a good time to sit down and put it together. I don't have the luxury of sitting down for eight hours straight all night to finish one up to my usual standards... unless I figure out a better way to draw these, I'll have to wait until the weekend. It's heartbreaking to see this comic die out, and I'm determined to get up to speed, especially if it's a means to show off to my cowokers (hey look, I do awesome things too!!) Thanks for keeping this board alive; I'm hoping to return the favor.

Nice to hear the new job's working out great - though you might actually be working for the company that tried to sue/legally threaten Penny Arcade when they did their taken on American McGee's "Alice" as in like..

http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/002368.html

..aaaaand now that I *do* look, yes, it IS them! You're working for the stereotypical evil corporation that crushes webcomic authors under foot! Oh no!! He's gone across to the Dark Side!

Hmm, maybe not let them know about your webcomic JUST yet ^_^
n/k
On a more serious note, I wonder whether working in House style (and I mean House as in Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake, not the sarcastic but brilliant doctor) will, if even gradually, alter the way you draw in your spare time and change the strip's art? I was going to draw a humourous strip illustrating over time Dan changing into one of the Care Bears or something BUT THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOUR LAWYER FRIENDS WANT ME TO DO ISN'T IT !!!111!! Wow, I went crazy again.
