JG Sales has some Yugo, brass-case, FMJ surplus 7.62x39mm ammo for sale at $129.92 for a case of 1120 rounds. It's got corrosive primers, so you'll have to clean promptly and carefully, but it's better stuff than that cheap steel-case Russian stuff that's been making the rounds lately.

I'm not really sure that the SKS even rises to the level of "plinker." I've got one of the ChiCom versions, one that takes AK mags. It's fun to blaze through 30-round mags with it, but when you're plinking, you sort of like to hit something once in a while. With my ChiCom SKS, if you want to hit something, you'd best use the rifle as a club.

I find it amazing that people sell scope mounts for these things. That really falls into the "you can't polish a turd" category.

You're absolutely right.

I don't shoot it much anyway, simply because I can't hit a damn thing with it... I usually stick to my 10/22, my shotty, and my Sig Pro...

So maybe I should blaze through the remainder of the ammo I have, clean the gun up, and see how much I can get for it at a pawnshop.

Don't really think I want to go to the effort of selling it private party.

Anyone know if pawnshops give more money if you're pawning something or if you're selling something?
