This game works just like the movie quote game, but using video games instead of movies. This is meant for all those true gamers out there who did talk to everyone in the town 5 times to make sure of what they would say.

my opening quote will be : "I know you’re a complete stranger, but will you please search for my father?"

This game seems to need a kick-start, so here's a new quote:

"There's a knock at the door!"

And another speedy death to the game quote thread. ;) Fortunately, something like "Beep BLOOP beep!" has several possible answers. Start easy, blast you! :P

Also, considering all the dialogue in FF7 and the tendancy for most of it to be fairly simple, I'm going to have to say that quote was probably in there somewhere. Certainly others as well. :)

Well, it seems to be from one of the Infocom games, that was just one of the first ones that came to mind. (Not that surprising considering it's one thing which gets quoted every odd conversation)

You are a very harsh mistress, mistress I like you.

Oh, I get it. Let's play with the old man's head, is it? He's half-senile, he'll forget I said anything! Wait uh, what was this about, anyway?

:P

First one... I got nothing. The second is Jolle[sp?] from KOTOR.

Try this:

Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Both Kotor, just slightly adapted the first one which had Master in it originally. HK-47: You are a very harsh master, master. I like you.

Just seemed like a fun thing to say to Rakka.

Oh and it's Jolee. Jolee Bindo.

Hmm.. Sounds familiar somehow.

Alpha Centauri.

Hi, I'm Larry. This is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl. We're pleased to meet you.

Why would a Xvart, a Kobold and a Tasloi be wandering around calling themselves Larry, Darryl and Darryl??

See Darryl. I told you these guys are the wrong generation!

...you guys need to go out and play some real games.

Dig out your Sega Genesis and play some Phantasy Star II. That's where my quote came from.

I don't do consoles, well I did twiddle around with the Phillips home console way back when, and a little with the CD32, but in general I'm strictly a personal computer person, whether that be C64, Amiga or PC.

I'm the last of the joystick generation, none of these weird looking controller thingies for me.

This thread seems to need a bit of reviving, so... what about a real easy and famous (albeit old) one?

"You want me to be die!!!!"

Google says it's Shining Force II, but I've never played it -- if it's console, I've never owned one.

I'll give you a good smattering -- you should be able to pick up on at least some of them.

Quote:
"The Rebels are unprepared for our attack. Signal Vice Admiral Thrawn to launch TIE squadrons immediately."
...
"This Rebel stronghold has no hope of escape. Commence the attack!"
"Yessir!"

Quote:
"Ready to ROLL OUT!"
"My life for Aiur!"
"BLEEEEAAAARGGGHHHH!"

Quote:
"I am an officer of the law!"
"Ay yo, ay yo yo!"
"Move that piece of sh*t out the crosswalk!"

Quote:
"How goes it, ARSEFACE?"
"There he is... Ranger the Great!"
"Care for some comp'ny?"
(Quotes may vary from character to character. Consult manual for details.)

Starcraft, the human, Protoss and Zerg grunts, respectively.

Now, for one seared into my brain, Zaphod-like:

"You must gather your party before venturing forth."

GTA: Vice City. There could probably be a whole thread devoted to some of the gems in that game.

How 'bout this one:

Quote:
I wanted to personally thank you for your latest modification proposal for the dilation matrix. The boys here at CPU have crunched your numbers and after some deliberation we've agreed that this is the most fantastically bogus theory that we've ever seen. If you are remotely interested in not getting your gnome-loving, dragon-slaying, power-leveling ass fired, I'd suggest you lay off the role-playing and learn some basic math. Good luck on your next review.

Dammit, I can't remember... it's one of the X-wing games, but I can't say which... I'll say X-Wing Alliance.

Naw, it's from the intro to TIE Fighter.

Great game. They need to do a modern remake...preferably one where the capital ships have more than a measly dozen cannons.

Dangit, I thought it might be TIE Fighter... it's been too long since I last played it. :-/

Okay, easy one (just because I'm currently very much into that game, and eagerly awaiting to get my hands on the sequel ;) )

Yes, calm down! What's wrong with you?

I can't remember for sure, but I think it's either Baldur's Gate II or Dungeon Siege.

Having just started playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, I am fairly certain it's from there. :)

It's Baldur's Gate, and Baldur's Gate 2...

There's a very nice mod that removes the voice, which 90% of the community uses...

KotOR doesn't have the voice, while DS doesn't actually have scene transitions...

And it's only in BG1+2 that it gets seared into your head, 'cause you control the whole party and path-finding is meh. Whereas with KotOR, your buddies tend to keep up fairly well unless you're force-speeding waaaaay ahead and around corners.
