The team behind the Sam and Max game have formed a new studio to develop adventure games.

Any chance of a Sam and Max? It's probable.

It is probable, but don't get your hopes up. Sam and Max 2 is falsely being reported as oficially back in development, but it's only a rumor now.

Not to rain on anyone's parade here... I want Sam and Max ressurected as much as the next guy! Been ages since the Saturday morning cartoon and comic book.

If it WERE true, and Telltale WAS reviving the project, I wonder how much of the exsiting work they did over at LucasArts will carry over, or if they had to start from square one all over again. I sort of liked the idea they had mentioned earlier in the year about several "episodes" comprising the game, and the ability to download additional episodes soon after the game shipped.

Could you imagine..... a mod community for Sam and Max (or any LA-style) adventure game? In the right hands it could really be something...

I wonder if... no, no, I'm not going to get my hopes up again

May Lucasarts be burned to a crispy carcinogenous brown in Hell for cancelling Sam & Max: Freelance Police! :x

According to http://www.samandmax.net/ , Telltale games is in pursuit of the license for Sam and Max, but it won't be their first game released. They're reportedly working on a unique adventure game first, then will move on to Sam and Max if they get the rights to 'em.

I wonder what the "well-loved license" could be... obviously not one of the Lucasarts games, so the real classics - Indy/Monkey Island/Maniac Mansion & DOTT/Full Throttle/Grim Fandango etc - are all out.
What could be left?

EDIT: lucasarts cut off all communications with badbrain interactive.
