This forum is the place to discuss programming languages, algorithms, software design, methodologies, etc. If you do programming, this is the forum for you.
There really are only three rules for this forum:
- Being "on-topic" is not necessary, but it's a good idea. If you want to discuss the latest graphics hardware or social issues surrounding computer science, I won't complain. But if your topic would be more appropriate in another forum (like D&E or V&S), I may move it.
- Don't ask people to do your homework. Don't do people's homework if they ask. It's pretty obvious when someone wants help working out a new algorithm vs. when somebody wants the answer to a CS problem. You are welcome to discuss your homework in here, but don't ask somebody to write it for you.
- No flamewars. Let's face it... people on the internet have less social grace than the average person, and people who get on the internet to talk about programming have even less than that. Feel free to be proud of your favorite language, editor or methodology, but try to be aware of other people's feelings when you do.
Welcome, and Enjoy!
