Third frame. The hand Tagon's holding up has six fingers.

I wasn't the one who noticed this, Algorithm did.

Howard needs to have that printed on sheets of acetate and sold as a collectible.

2/24/2002, footnote: the apostrophes in the footnote are coming up as non-displayable characters for me, and I normally do see the international character sets.

NOTE: Lets play

"lots'n'lots" displays fine, as do the apostrophes in the transcript.

Ditto.

Also, on May 8th, 2005, is 'An historic meeting' correct grammar as opposed to 'A historic meeting'?

I don't know for certain, since this is an area of grammar I'm genuinely not sure about, since it kind of depends on whether or not you pronounce the 'h' in 'historic'. Also, it might just be one of the areas that US and UK English deviate

[EDIT]: I just realised there was a discussion on similar topic at the bottom of this page

Dunno if it's an error, but it seems somewhat out of continuity to me:
From the Log description, the explosion is caused by a neutronium pile letting go. As Tagon says in This Comic, A pile letting go would make a Skoom, not a Thoom.

Again, it's not a full-blown error (haha, pun), but it's one of those things that goes "this ain't right" in the back corner of my mind.

It's an antimatter explosion, not a neutronium pile

In that case, On my tour of the archives, the footnote for http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20050828.html is misspelled.

Quote:
Note: Qlavo is a binary star system. The preternaturally temperate world of Qlaviql (pronounced a lot like "clavicle") orbits the G-glass star Qlavo, which in turn orbits the much larger red supergiant Suur-qla.

Should Be

Another Footnote error:

Quote:
Note: The student of marine biology will be quick to point out that the giant squid shown in panel two has about too many tentacles, and not enough arms.

I don't think "Has about too many arms" is proper grammar.

Not every character, just the artificial ones. 8-)
Which is more important, being realistic or setting a good example?

The first narration box reads
Code:
"The depiction of  the decision-making process..."
Note the two spaces between "of" and "the" (I had to use the 'code' tag to make the second space actually show up). I originally chalked it up to justified-style text, but none of the narration boxes are justified.

The 3/8/09 strip starts "And so Colonel Kerchak..."

Except Petey promoted him to General a few days earlier.

Error in the transcript for 10/10/04:

Schlock: See why I want you to stop with the doublething? (should be doublethink)

The comic has no error.

Another page that has footnotes with non-displayable characters where the single and double quotes should be:

http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20010409.html

The nearest strips before and after that have footnotes (20010408 and 20010415) don't have the problem.

July, 29, 2009 "and the every sweep comes up clean."

That the shouldn't be there. Perhaps Howard was thinking of "and every sweep comes up clean." and "the sweep comes up clean." and put them both in. I do stuff like that a lot. ;)

Edit: Wait, why'd I put July 29 on a post I made on the 23rd??? Can't even find the strip this dialog is in, today...

Kevyn says "boys and girl" while standing next to Legs, but the following day's strip establishes that Elf is also there...

Regarding 2009/08/17, I've never seen "monologue" spelled without the ue.

Problem: Broken image, the upper one.

EDIT: Found something else.

URL: http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20030908.html
Problem: In the final panel, Kevyn includes a comma in the transcript, but does not do so in the strip.

EDIT2: Found more.

URL: http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20071003.html
Problem: The transcript says "chicken-boned" while the strip says "chicken-bone".

EDIT3: And another. I don't actually read this thread, so these may be repeats.

URL: http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20090427.html
Problem: Schlock's last line lacks an apostrophe in it, in the strip, while the transcript has it.

In the Strip dated 2005-03-20

The word 'apropo' appearing in the first narration box should be spelled
'apropos.'

Friday, 30 Dec 2005, third panel.

Shodan's hairpiece is missing its color.

http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20091225.html

and

http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20091226.html

Tagi's collar in the first link is a loose drape with a bare neck, then in the second link, is a neck collar with what appear to be bare shoulders or possibly a wooden board beneath the collar.

Mentioned this once already in a different thread, a week or so ago.

On 1/4 and 1/9, Legs doesn't appear to have leggings/boots.

At first I thought it was the new lighter gray color of the uniform boots, but in the 1/9 comic at least, the color appears to match her skin color.

Howard;

Your colorist missed a trick: on Sunday 16May10 you obviously intended the top-center Ninja to be grasping the panel divider. A neat affectation, btw. However, the colorist has the bottom of the Ninja's hand seemingly grasping the divide, while the top of the hand is seemingly in front of the lines.

Then again, the current layout gives a disconcerting hyper-warped Esher effect to the art. So it just might be an interesting visual tease from the warped mind that fathered Schlock. ;^)'

Really enjoying this arc. And I thought you'd never be able to top the LOTA story.

Thanks!

I am pretty sure that you're imagining it. His hand is making a fist, and it is clearly in front of divider, protruding from it on both the top and the bottom. Any appearance that it is grasping something is purely one of those optical delusions.
