As I've already posted on a few threads, the Melonpool strip will be back, in pretty much it's original format the first or second week of November.

The only difference will be that I'll have a backlog of at least six weeks, so I'm not so stressed out anymore. The time off has made me miss the strip again, and I have Melonpool stories left that I want to tell. The Flash movies are still coming, but I'm trying to work out a few sound issues that have stalled them again, and I'm too antsy to not be creating things.

So, anyway, spread the word. I'll update the site in the next couple of days with this info.

Steve

Woohoo! Set your calendars, more Melonpool for all.

Are you getting a newsbox for the date of your triumphant return? I heard you mention it on the IW boards. Now that I think of it, I don't remember ever seeing an Melonpool newsbox that I can think of... which is weird since I've been reading for over a year. Maybe I'm just going crazy.

I've had quite a few. I'm not sure that I'll have a newsbox on that day. I'd hope so, but haven't heard word from Chris Crosby yet.

w00t! I'm so glad it's coming back!

Every once in a while, my mind will wander and I'll think about some old storyline or something, then I realize how much I really miss Ralphie, Sam, and Ralph. It's strange how I'll sometimes forget that they're just characters in a strip that'd ended; at one point I acually thought, "Gee, I'm so glad Sam got his memory back. I wonder what he's been up to?" (Before you think I've gone off the deep end, keep in mind that I'm usually thinking this at about five in the morning as I'm struggling to wake up and get ready for school, and I've been pretty stressed out lately.) Other times, I think about the wonderful interaction between Ralph and Ralphie and how well-constructed the strip was.

I'm overjoyed that you're coming back, Steve. It won't be a moment too soon. :D

Sweet! I can't wait.

What kind of sound problems are you having, Steve?

Oh what sweet music you play for my ears Steve! :D

Well, bring it on! I've just finished TUM IV & V and the wacky adventures of Mayberry, Roberta, Sam, Ralph & Ralphia and all the others are still churning around in my head... but I'm ready for more! 8-)

Since I slavishly check Melonpool every single day (except the occasional Sunday), I won't miss a bit of it!

happyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappyhappy

(By the way, I'm hoping to be able to debut the first installment of "Rangers!" next month, as well. I want to finish one full story before I go online.)

Yay, new Melonpool! A month earlier than projected, too!

Are you planning to suspend the email subscriptions, Steve? I want to know so I can move my bookmark out of that list and into the general list.

I'm not sure that I understand what you're asking. My plan is to leave the e0mail subscriptions intact as they've always been. I regard them as a good way for people that don't check the site everyday (becasue of my sporadic update schedule) to know that I've updated.

I was just wondering. Before the hiatus, only about a third to a quarter of the strips actually got mailed out. Of course, the buffer will help that.

Congrats on the buffer, BTW. :D

Hold off on your congratulations when they're done! ;) I have quite a few written, quite a few pencilled, but none inked.

WOOHOO! NEW MELONPOOL! Can't wait!

I'm also starting a new 5-day-a-week web comic strip on Halloween, so I'll be able to pimp the new Melonpool comics from my site properly.

And today I found out that the comic is updating right now. I didn't know that until today's update got mailed to me. This is the first Melonpool thing to make it to my e-mailbox since the crack about Walky needing a hand. :/

Oh well. Today I get to catch up on what I missed! I take it this is the comic book Steve was talking about earlier.

I sort of explained this on the main page -- this is the 1996 Melonpool Chronicles comic. I updated about 30 pages last night, so all of you will have to start at the archives. I mainly did this so that these will run out at about the same time that the strip comes back. Also, enough people have copies of Issue #1 that I didn;t want a month's worth of old stuff up there presented daily.

Wow! After all these years, I finally get to see the Melonpool Chronicles resolved!

(will you be posting the covers too?)

I probably should, huh? What I'll probably do is scan the covers in when I scan in Issue #4 (I started inking it last night). Once the issues run completely, I'll move them to a separate archive so they don't confuse people, along with the colored covers.

Probably not. But who knows? I could be really desparate for a book next year and collect them all into one volume.

But I'm not real thrilled with either my drawing skills or my writing skills back in 1993-94, so I'm not sure if I want to waste the time and effort (and money) printing them.
